Pet Approves respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Who we are
Pet Approves is a pet product review site written by Gunner Vance. Gunner tests products himself and writes up what he finds.
For the purposes of this policy, Pet Approves is the party responsible for the information described above.

What information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the site and answer readers.
- Contact form. When you use the form at /contact-me/, your name, email address, and message are sent to us and stored privately in our WordPress database. We use this only to reply to you.
- Comments. If you leave a comment on a post, WordPress stores your name, email address, and comment text.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, connected through the Google Site Kit plugin, to see aggregate traffic patterns like which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. This data is not tied to your name or email.
- Cache cookies. Our LiteSpeed Cache plugin sets cookies that help pages load faster. These do not identify you personally.
What we do not do
We never sell your information to anyone.
We do not run ad networks on this site, so there is no ad-tracking data collected here.
We do not use anything you send us to train AI models.
How long we keep things
Pet Approves does not use reader accounts, and reader comments are not currently in active use on the site.
There is no newsletter signup here, so we do not hold an email list beyond the messages readers send us directly.
Server logs and Google Analytics data are kept for whatever retention period our host and Google apply by default. We do not layer a separate schedule on top of those defaults.
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer your question, and may be deleted once the matter is closed.
Cache cookies from LiteSpeed Cache expire on their own short technical schedule and are not something we store beyond that.
Who we share information with
We only share data with the providers that keep the site running.
- Hostinger, our web hosting provider, stores the site and its database.
- Google processes analytics data through Google Analytics 4.
- Amazon may receive standard affiliate-link tracking information when you click a product link on our site, under the Amazon Associates Program. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
We do not share your contact form messages or comments with anyone outside of running this site.
Links to other sites
This site links out to Amazon and to other retailers so you can see current pricing and buy a product if you choose to.
Each retailer we link to has its own privacy policy, and that policy governs what happens once you leave petapproves.com.
Product images on many of our pages load directly from Amazon’s servers rather than from ours. When your browser requests one of those images, Amazon sees that request the same way any web server sees a request for an image it hosts.
We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of Amazon or any other retailer we link to.
Age and children
Pet Approves is a general-audience pet product review site. It is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not build features aimed at that age group.
We do not ask visitors to verify their age before using the contact form or reading posts, since the site itself is not age-restricted.
If a parent believes their child has sent us information through the contact form or a comment, they may write to hello@petapproves.com and ask us to remove it. We will act on that request.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
Email hello@petapproves.com with your request. We aim to respond within 45 days.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us through the contact form or comments. More detail on how we secure the site is on our security page.
Where we operate
Pet Approves is run from Washington State, USA. Our hosting provider stores the site in the facilities it selects.
Visitors from other states or countries are served the same site and the same policy. We do not run a separate version of this page by location.
If you are visiting from outside the United States, understand that your information may be processed on servers located in the United States.
We do not maintain separate physical offices open to the public. Our mailing address, listed under Contact us below, is for written correspondence only.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the date stamp at the top of this page changes to match.
We do not send an email notice when the policy changes, since there is no mailing list to send it to.
